Roxanna Meta as Black Cat

This one has been siting in my home folder for a few weeks now. I had to work on some details, so it could be presentable, and now I'm posting it. I really hope she likes it.

[WIP] Lady Punisher and Domino

This one has been bugging me for months. I actually started it before the Mia Ballistic Green Lantern Sketches but have been working on it only sporadically. It's a long way from finished - and this is one I hope to actually finish - but it is decent enough for a post.
Lady Punisher: Mia Ballistic
Domino: Catherine Pow

Just a little quickie before work

Woke up early but was so "brain damaged" from this weeks crisis that I was unable to study. Did this quick sketch instead. Using a fresh pull of Krita beta 4 from git, Deban GNU/Linux and my old trusty Wacom Intuos II

Roy Scheider

I've been a huge fan of Scheider's work for quite a while so I decided to engage in a little fan art. Krita on a Debian GNU/Linux SID and my old trusty Intuos II.

Beth WIP

I started this almost an year ago and did not have the time to continue so
I decided to post as an Work In Progress as it is. I do not believe I'll be changing much of the sketch since I've really grown to like the unfinished look of it.

Another Katie Cassidy WIP

Supernatural promises a lot and delivers a decent amount of entertainment. Even though the stories are still watchable I really miss the days of Katie Cassidy as Ruby. Decided to post as a WIP since I have not touched this in a couple of months.

Tank Girl

It is one of those stories that are, simultaneously, cool and weird. I've never actually read that many stories of the character, or even watched the movie, but something about her always fascinated me.

Krita 2.4 beta, compiled from the public git repo, Intuos II in SID Debian GNU/Linux.

Another Amber WIP

Yesterday Tombs send me a couple pics of Amber. I just could not wait to get home so I could do some sketches. This piece is a Work In Progess.. Trusty old Wacom Intuos II and Krita runing Debian GNU/Linux SID.

[WIP] Katie Cassidy as Ruby

Since I've negeleted my health situation for quite a while I had to rest for a couple days this weekend. I the downtime, in which I was unable to read much, I've watched quite a bit of North American series.
The last one I've watched was Supernatural which is quite simplistic and unidimensional, but those elements are part of what make the series actually work.
As I was watching the 3rd season I decided to draw Ruby, the Katie Cassidy version. I hope to find the time to make a few sketches of the Genevive version as well as some of Meg, both versions.

[quickie] 10 minutes sketch

Following with my recent obsession with The Mentalist I've done this 10 minute sketch o Grace Van Pelt using only kritas sketch brush with opacity disabled. I'm trying to loosen up my grip...

[WIP] amazing grace

Have been watching too much the mentalist lately. Can't take Grace Van Pelt and Teresa Lisbon out of my mind.

This was just a quickie done with krita. Tried to play with the sketch brush to make the lines and kinda liked the results I got. Not the sketch as a whole but some of the lines where surprisingly nice.

[WIP] Mia Ballistic - GL

I just can't stop sketching her. It is still on really early stages but, since I'm not sure when I'll finish it, I'm posting it anyways.

My trusty wacom intuos II and krita 2.4 from the calligra git repo.

[WIP] Tina Hanlon

Long way until it's finished but I decided to post so a few friends could see what I'm trying to acomplish. I still got to put a lot of work on line weights but...

Blender and Gimp for the background and Krita for the figure and overall composition.

[WIP] James Alan Hetfield

I've always been I a big fan of Metallica so I've always wanted to make a sketch of them.

This sketch is based on a magazine article scanned which I found a while ago but can not remember where or which magazine it was.

Still trying to finish it but since it has been in my desktop for months now, I've decided to post a Work in Progress.

[WIP] Luciano Perle

It's been quite a while since I drew someone from my workplace. Well, new job, new sketches. I do not think I'll touch it again but since it is not finished I tagged it as Work In Progress....

[wip] pancadinha drinking water

This is an old sketch that has been laying around my computers for a few months. Pancadinha drinking water from a bottle.

And an earlier version:

Lena Headey as Sarah Connor

This one has been in my backpack for a few months now. Yesterday I scribbled a few lines during my methodology class as the content is almost the same since my high school years. I did not put much effort in getting it right since it was just an exercise to loosen up my inking as well as making the clock run faster. Shading, especially lighting, is a mess...

[WIP] Another Mia Ballistic - Green Lantern

Sometimes you find someone that just fills a role perfectly and you just can't see someone else in that role. That's how I feel about these cosplay: she is just perfect as a Green Lantern. Even though she looked great as Lady Punisher, Catwoman, and Kitty Pride, I can't see her in another role. So I did another sketch...

[WIP] Mia Ballistic as Green Lantern - Flats

I just begun coloring this sketch. I've laid out the flats ... Now everything gets tougher by the minute...

[WIP] Mia Ballistic as Green Lantern

I was never a real fan of cosplay but from the moment I first saw Mia Ballistic dressed up as Green Lantern on Facebook I knew I had to draw her. It was "love at first sight". Everything just worked out perfectly: shapes, colors, poses.... This is just my first try and I hope she can forgive me.

Michael Chiklis as Victor Samuel "Vic" Mackey

I've been fooling around with krita and my tablet quite a lot lately. Just today I was able to work some long recurring problems about using tablets with a dual head desktop.

Tonight, just fot the fun of it, I did a quick - less than 20 minutes - sketch of Michael Chiklis as Victor Samuel "Vic" Mackey from the TV Series "The Shield".

I've been wanting to sketch him for quite a while now so I just did it. Unfortunately the image size was so small I could not work on it anymore. Instead of throwing it away I decided to give Inkscape's bitmap tracing capabilities a try. And it saved the sketch, as far as I'm concerned.

gizele doing class assignments

I've always had problems drawing everyday poses so I had to make a try. Based on a cellphone pic and done on krita with my trusty old intuos 2 wacom tablet.

Taking Krita to ride - Pancadinha is almost asleep

Just a quick sketch I did a couple nights ago. I'm still learning how to draw hair...

Underneath My Skin

"Holding on to.. the sweet escape.."

I just can not stop listening to that song.. And wathing the video on youtube

Anna Paquin - 2nd try - Piano [WIP]

Still can't stop sketching Anna Paquin. Now I've sketched a still frame from her first movie, for which she got an Oscar: Piano.

Anna Paquin - 1st try

I've always been a huge fan of Anna Paquin. I cannot recall one single movie with her which I did not enjoy, even partially. She even saved the X-Men trilogy.

I'm tiered, sleepy and my hands hurt. I just could not go to sleep before doing a sketch of her. I'll do a better job next time...

Kirsten Dunst [WIP]

I had just finished watching Elizabethtown when this urge to sketch Kirsten Dunst took over me.. again. This time I wasn't so strong in my objections, or lazyness, so I just did a quickie..

The Dead Zone - Sheriff Walter T. Bannerman

Continuing my sketches of the dead zone characters: Sheriff Walter T. Bannerman, played by Cris Bruno

Alicia Silverstone - Batgirl [WA]

I never really understood how Joel Schumacher, who had done some marvelous movies, could do such a dreaded piece as Batman & Robin. I don't mean that it is poor job. It was so wretched that it obviously took a lot of effort to make that especific kind of movie.

How come the guy who made "St. Elmo's Fire", "The Lost Boys", "The Client", "Falling Down", "A Time to Kill", "8mm" and "Flatliners" could do something like "Batman & Robin" escapes my reasoning. Even with the studios forcing a "kid's friendly Batman" I cannot understand how he was able to do a campier version of Batman than the 60 TV series.

I try, really hard, to think of it as some kind of Warholesque apropriation of mas media material and an exposition of how stupid it can be.

The only thing I recall of this movie with a little enthusiasm is Alicia Silverstone taking the Batgirl mantle. The scenes were terrible but the imagery was enough to make me want to draw her quite often.

This is an Work Abandoned [WA], as I did lots of mistakes early on and do not with to redraw the whole thing. I'm just posting it as a reminder to myself to analise the structure and lighting better before shading and doing the textures...

Dr. Molly Caffrey - Carla Gugino [WIP]

I've been a big fan of Threshold (TV series) for quite a while. I've become quite angry with the fact that there is no DVD set of the show in Brasil. I'd love to watch the extras, especially those parts where they are supposed to be talking about the future of the show, had it not being canceled.

So I present you my first sketch of a Threshold character: Dr. Molly Caffrey.

Intuos 2, Krita over a Debian Sid.

Johnny Smith [WIP]

Continuing my Dead Zone frenzy, the one and only John Smith (Anthony Michael Hall). I still have a lot of shading to do but decided to post just the line work for now.

Taking those intuos into The Dead Zone

I have just finished watching The Dead Zone, the entire TV series, and enjoyed it a lot.
Since I was already playing around with my Intuos, 2 and 4, I decided to give it a try with those characters while experimenting with krita, the KDE painting app. I'm still trying to figure ot how to work efficiently with krita since I've been an avid Gimp user for years. It seems to be worth the hassle as krita has its focus on ilustration and painting while Gimp in image retouching. It seems I can do a lot of stuff mixing them up.

Intuos 2, Frustrado still frustrated

Still trying to make peace with my intuos 4. I do not know why but my trusty old intuos 2 seems a lot more confortable and responds a lot better then her younger sister. I did this sketch just for the sake of practice.

Getting a little grip with my intuos: Philip K. Dick

After years of having bought my first tablet, a Wacom Intuos 2, I'm finally losing he dread and gaining a little confidence, as well as a decent grip, on the damn tool.

This is a roughly done sketch of the sci-fi author Philip K. Dick. Even though my knowledge of his works is quite limited, a fact that I'm plaining to retify soon, I loved everything I read from him as well as a few adaptations of his novels into movies. Just to name a few: "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?" (Blade Runner), Minority Report (Minority Report), Second Variety (Screammers) and The Impostor (The Impostor).

The Sarah Connor Chronicles

I've watched "The Sarah Connor Chronicles" about 3-4 times from start to finish and still haven't passed the exitement of watching Lena Headey playing Sarah Connor. She is way different from Linda Hamilton, so a initial disconfort was expected, but I believe that it is exactly why she works so well. Hamilton played Connor as a air head teenager and later as a action lead. Both caracterizations would get tiring after a few episodes. Headey did it differently: as a mother who was more prepared to fight the end of the world than to really grasp the basics of parenting. And all this while still being strong and sexy. You gotta love that.

self-portrait 2011

I grew tired of that piece I did in 2008 so I decided to make a more recent, and hopefully more polished, self-portrait. It is still a long way from a good self-portrait but at least it does not bother me with all those marker lines. Bush, media ink on A4 layout paper.

Just a quick exercise to take the edge of.

Van Halen fan - gray markers

I've been trying to play with diferent shading techniques over the past couple of months so I decided to rework this sketch using markers.

Lzzy - singing

This one has been in the works for a few weeks. I did the last of the hatching during the 1st day of this year over breakfeast and decided to call the quits. I was getting to the point where, even though the piece was far from finished, every line I was making was just screwing up the piece. Maybe some day, and probably that day will never come,I'll continue to work in it ...
