Two Rabbits
One of most wonderful experiences is to be completely surprised. And that is what happened to me when I first watched the movie “2 Coelhos”. The name of the movie, for itself, was quite clever. Came from the expression “matar 2 coelhos com uma cajadada” which loosely translates into “killing 2 rabbits with a single shot”.
I must admit: even being a proud Brazilian, I was never to found of Brazilian movies. They always seemed to lack something in the plot, in the development of th story, in the acting, in the editing or, quite often, in the main idea behind the whole movie. 2 Coelhos was quite different. It is not the most original movie, it does not try to be, nor it try to be artistic nor a celebration of some sorts. I is just a good mix of a drama, a love story, strategy and action all built on top of imperfect people. Every single character has it's flaws and strengths. The idea, the theme of the movie deserves attention too. As the title says, it is a plot to bring down a corrupt politician and a unstoppable mobster who are personifications of what the writer, director, producer and editor Afonso Poyart obviously sees as the two great problems in the country: corruption and greed.
The storytelling deserves attention too. The way the story is narrated is as important as the story itself. Being the protagonist a avid gamer, the movie has the feel of, and some simulated scenes, of a computer game. Animation is used quite often to enhance key points of the plot, especially when presenting characters and their agendas. I recommend the movie to anyone who wants to watch a well thought action movie with quite a few good twists and even surprises. The sketch above is of one of the main characters, Julia, played by the gorgeous and talented Alessandra Negrini.

[WIP] Carrie Fisher
This one is just Carrie Fisher, not as Princess Leia. It has a long way to go but it already works as an image. Since it is possible that this image will just be "sitting" in my InProgress folder for quite a while I decided to publish it. Guile Dias made a few nice comments about this one so I'm quite happy about this one.

Carrie Fisher - Princess Leia
I was never a big fan of StarWars. Not that I did not like it but the faerie tale aspects of it always bothered me. The hero had to be a prince, the endangered princess, the dark side of the force, all that stuff.
But Carrie Fisher always amazed me. For her beauty as Princess Leia and for her life story, and the courage to tell it with a huge sense of humor, years latter.
I've been doing a few sketches of her lately and, even though I'm not posting them in the ordered I produced them, I'll be posting them as soon as I feel comfortable with each piece. As expected, I'l start with the last one I did.

Coupling Guys
Coupling (UK) has been a favorite show of mine for the last decade or so. A few months ago I decided to draw the cast and so I did. It is a couple months old because I wanted to publish the guys and gals simultaneously. Since I'm almost finished with the gals lineart I decided to start posting.

Old study - Mayor
While looking for some old pictures, requested by a friend, I found this old drawing in some shady corner of my backups. It is quite old, even though I can not remember when I did it, and unfinished.

[WIP] André e Laura
The thing about friends is that they never cease to surprise you. After about tree years apart I visited André and Lívia and finally met Laura, their little angel. This is supposed to be a gift for them, if I ever get to fix Laurinha's face.

[WIP] Grasiela Piasson
Found her pics on Facebook and something about her fascinated me. Grasiela Piasson, actress and singer, born in Erechin RS and resides in Curitiba PR.
It is still a long way 'till its finished but I decided to post before I screw up or give up.

[WIP] Coloring Kirsten
As anybody who checked the last posts can deduce, I've been studying comic book coloring and digital painting lately. A lot of reading, a few experiments but nothing decent as of yet. Yesterday I decided to try coloring something so I took one of my old sketches, of Kirsten Dunst, and decided to splatter some colors over and see how it would go. It is a long way from done but I decided to post anyway.

[WIP] Cheryl Texiera digital painting
I've been reading a lot about digital painting lately. Colors where always a mystery for me, since I'm more used to drawing, so I decided to dedicate some time to it. Along with Larry Wall's caricature, this is one my first, ever, experiments with digital painting. This would not be possible without great apps like Krita and MyPaint.
I've seen Cheryl Texiera on the web series "My Future Girlfriend" and just could no resist doing some sketches of her.

[WIP] Larry Wall
This is my first, ever, try on a caricature as well as on a digital painting. I hope Larry Wall, the creator of the perl programming language, can ever find it in his heart to forgive me.

A friend asked to draw her baby boy. I'm kinda rusty last few days but I gave it a shot. Hope she likes it.

[WIP] Lady Punisher and Domino
This one has been bugging me for months. I actually started it before the Mia Ballistic Green Lantern Sketches but have been working on it only sporadically. It's a long way from finished - and this is one I hope to actually finish - but it is decent enough for a post.

Just a little quickie before work
Woke up early but was so "brain damaged" from this weeks crisis that I was unable to study. Did this quick sketch instead.

I've been a huge fan of Scheider's work for quite a while so I decided to engage in a little fan art.
