Ever since I watched a few episodes, back when I actually had cable tv, I've been fascinated by the Farscape universe. As many academics have pointed out for the last few years, O'Bannon and Henson broke the rules of what an scifi series should be. They aliens really alien, they made the hero an imperfect, sometimes even idiotic, human and created stories that not only made us think about the world we live in but about our place on it as well as how we actually want to belong on society.
