Patriarca.. again

Have been too tired to have a decent grip on the brush. I've aged her a couple of decades but at least it is done - or I just gave up on it... just can't decide which..

Patriarca set's the pace for the coworkers series

I've stated working at a great commpany a couple months back. The only problem is that I've being working around the clock, did not having enough time for pretending to be a social person.

So, at dawn instead of sleeping I, began making sketches of few coworkers in a really weak attempt not to loose my sanity only thinking only about syntax, semantics, business logic and relational integrity.

To begin the series I chose Aline Correa Patriarca - I hope I got her name right.

Inking exercises - Inking the masters

I wasn't being very productive at programming lately so I decided to ink something. As I had nothing penciled I just grabbed a few sketches from Scott McDaniel and George Perez.

Melvin Frohike - experimenting with ink washes

As I was trying to take my head of programming for a short while I decided to draw a sketch of one of my favorite X-Files characters, Melvin Frohike, and experiment with some ink washes. As it turns out, layout paper is not that good for ink washes :'(

Chasing Amy

Chasing Amy is one of the best movies about love that I've ever seen. It's not an romantic comedy, it is not even a true romance as it portrays real relationships and the mistakes that start them and that put an end to them.

Here is another sketch. As the other Chasing Amy sketch, the original for this one is now proudly owned by Guilherme Silveira.

Rock & Roll

Every once in a while we may find a movie that is not lost in preconceived notions of what kind of story is marketable but is, in it's own way, true to a less idealized world, closer to home even though it is still fiction and works really well at that.

Prey for Rock & Roll is this kind o movie, as well as "Chasing Amy", "Dark City", "Leaving Las Vegas", "THX-1138", etc. It first called my attention years ago, when I watched it on TV, and it still gets me every time I watch it.

While "Chasing Amy" and "Leaving Las Vegas" are, in their own unique ways, love stories, "Prey for Rock & Roll" is a movie about dreams, about the quest to achieving what we crave for.

Amber goes political - Bad Vista Campaign

It's been a while since I've posted anything around here so I decided to do a quick sketch, which turned out not to be so quick. Here we have Amber, Tombs's daughter, wearing a Bad Vista t-shirt. In the original picture she was wearing a stylized rabbit but it seemed more interesting to embed her with some of her father's ideology.

Below are a few character sketches for the upcoming comic book Telematic Society that I've been creating and writing for months now. I recreated the whole concept from scratch less then 6 months ago and now it seems to be developing better and faster.

Inking exercises

I've picked up a few pencil drawings at deviantart in an atempt to master the damned nib pen. As far as it went, until now, I've managed to get better acquainted with it. I is not as easy to handle as the brush yet but I'll get there.. sooner than later I hope.
